The Vision

Raising up a generation of godly leaders to transform our society is the Vision on Burundi Youth for Christ. Now that the country is in crisis, BYFC is not sitting down waiting for peace to run the vision. We are busy at work. We have a thousand of students to train in both Future Hope Schools and Gitega International Academy. They are soon leaving for Christmas holidays to be back in January of 2016. While back, they have to be supervised. They can't be left by their own. They are teenagers and young children of primary schools. So, we've chosen investing in the youth. It's like planting seeds in a good soil. Let's combine our efforts, for sure the harvest will be so good.

Bakery Project

The bakery project is going well. It’s exciting to see how the children in the Homes of Hope and

the Future Hope School have benefited from the addition of bread to their diets. We have a bakery in Cibitoke and Gitega and this project is making a big difference. Children who used to come to school hungry, now get fed mid-morning, and their grades have improved now that they are not studying on an empty stomach. The surplus bread and doughnuts  are sold in town and generate an income to support the projects. With this project, we’re providing:- skills-training and a livelihood for those working in the bakery, food for the children in our care and we’re taking steps towards sustainability from the income we generate in town.
Full self-sustainability is still a long way off, but this is an encouraging step anyway.
We pray for good and godly workers to accomplish this activity.
